This Vanuatu Tourism Ambassador workshop was held for 16hours (2days) at two different locations (Financial Service Commission - 19 May 2015 and at the MSG conference room) and was sponsored by the New Zealand Aid. The main purpose was to improve all border agencies operating in Port Vila at the wharf and the airport and they are the first to be in contact with the Tourists arriving in Vanuatu.
This training was given to 2 different groups of same border agencies. I was part of the first group with my other fours BV counterparts and other fellows of Customs Department, Immigration Department, Ports and Habour & Aviation Security with Airports Vanuatu Limited. The session was very interesting in reminding us the first impression our tourists have on arrival in Vanuatu. Our attitude, behaviour, impression counts. The frist impression is always the best then just Smile when you welcome the tourists in Vanuatu.
After the two days workshop, participants received a certificate of Achievment from the Tourism department. Word of thanks to the Director of Tourism and at the same time, chairman of the Vanuatu Tourism Ambassador, Mrs Adela Aru and Mrs Mills who help us and remind us with some tips of how to behave and treat a tourist at our borders areas.
